What is Jersey Central Power & Light?

Jersey Central Power & Light is the public electricity utility in central and northern New Jersey. It serves 1.1 million customers in all or part of 13 of the state’s 21 counties. It’s the default electricity supplier in these areas, but the market is deregulated, giving customers the choice of competing retail energy companies as well.

Jersey Central Power & Light is owned by FirstEnergy, an Akron-based energy company that supplies power to six million customers across 65,000-square-miles in seven states.

What services does Jersey Central Power & Light offer?
